Preparing Your Presentation

In this short clip, the speaker shares some practical advice on how to prepare your presentation. He emphasises the need to first define the outcome you are seeking to achieve – are you aiming to inform (eg. a progress report) or to influence (eg. gain support) or are you aiming to inspire your audience to action.

When you are collating your content, it is easy to get lost in the details, and possibly end up delivering far too much material that does not actually help to advance your primary goal ……. so the first and fundamental question to ask yourself during the planning stage, is what am I trying to achieve through this presentation?
